Unto the Mighty Kingdom of Avacal,
We are honoured and humbled to have been selected to serve as your new King and Queen. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our predecessors, Their Graces Duke Kvigr and Duchess Svava, for their hard work and dedication to the Kingdom during their reign. We hope to continue building on the foundations they have laid and serve the Kingdom to the best of our abilities. We would also like to thank all those who have stepped forward with offers of service or words of encouragement. Avacal is blessed to have such a talented and enthusiastic populace! We understand the responsibilities that come with the Crown and are committed to upholding the ideals of chivalry, honour, and service that are the hallmarks of the SCA. We look forward to working with all of you to make Avacal an even better place, where all members can find their place and contribute to the game we love. We hope that you will join us in celebrating the rich history and traditions of our game, as well as the wonderful community of people who make it all possible.

Greetings from Their Royal Majesties
Our final missive is one of gratitude.
We find ourselves lacking the words to convey the gratitude we feel for this opportunity to be the Crowns of Avacal. We enjoyed the opportunity to travel this Kingdom as your Sovereigns. Getting to see the populace and give recognition to Our talented Avacalians is a joy. We would not have been able to do this without the help and support of so many. To say thank you is not enough. But it does need to be said. Thank you to our retinue, to the Kingdom officers for keeping things running smoothly, to the makers that donated largesse and gifts, and to the people of Avacal for your support. We are honored to have been your King and Queen. We wish Their Royal Highnesses the best in their upcoming reign.

Winter Crown Pre-Registration

It’s that time again, Crown is Coming!
Crown is being held in Myrgan Wood on February 18, 2023 and pre-registration is now OPEN for the Crown Tournament.

Membership Renewal Portal Temporarily Down
It has been brought to our attention that with the website down some people can not renew their memberships on the SCA Website portal. We have spoken to the society senechal about a possible allowance for people to not have their memberships for crown as long as they get them as soon as the website is back up and running. This will NOT be allowed, because there is another option. One most of us have not used in some time but it still exists. You can renew and/or get a new membership by E-mail. With Crown only 3 weeks away there is still time to use this option, so we encourage everyone that needs to, to use the email option as soon as possible. I would hate to see anyone that wanted to be competing in Crown be sitting on the sidelines.

Greetings Avacal,
Thank you to everyone that made our Coronation such a wonderful day. We were well looked after, by wonderful friends and retinue. We appreciate everyone taking the time to join us at the event and especially appreciate our out of Kingdom guests making the journey. It was wonderful to see you all! To the event and feast stewards, and all the volunteers of this Kingdom thank you for making the day what it was.
We would also like to thank our newest Duke and Countess, Wernar and Sadb, for a job well done.
Avacal, without you our game would not be what it is. This Kingdom is special, and our Populace makes it so. We wish to recognize those that contribute in deeds and generosity. Please let us know of the works of our wonderful populace and send in recommendations so that we may recognize them.
